Project Information

Dam Site 19 is one of three projects included in the 2025-2029 Implementation Plan. Located in Gretna in the headwaters of the South Papillion Creek, it will control 2,750 acres of drainage area. It will also contribute to the flood benefits downstream through the communities of Papillion and Bellevue. This project has also been identified by the United States Army Corps of Engineers in their Feasibility Report to address flood risk in the Papillion Creek watershed.

The purchase of land rights has started in order to secure the land against the development pressures of Gretna. Preliminary design is complete and the USACE will lead the final design, slated to begin in 2025.
